Prizes
it's not all about the winning... BUT,
this is a league after all..
so this is what you get...and our reasons WHY:
WINNERS receive:
- Either a bar tab OR a discount off next season's fee (as voted for by the majority of the club!) - it's your choice.. so if you're feeling social go for a bar tab, and if you're feeling poor go for a discount
- Gold iron-on badges - priceless! Reminiscent of swimming badges and school prizes. Iron it onto your team strip and psyche out the opposition. Collect a few - and you'll be unbeatable! Alternatively add it onto your favourite jacket or sweater to impress your friends
- Your team name etched into the Hall of Champs.. If your team name starts appearing frequently in the Hall of Champs, unforseen fortune, club perks and inner circle treats will befall you and your team (Don't believe us? Ask some of the regular champs!)
RUNNER-UPS receive:
- Silver iron-on badges. ... Because you earnt some recognition and we know how fine the line can be between winning and losing. So, iron on that badge somewhere prominent and wear it with pride. A badge is a badge - and whether you're in the military or in a social sports club, it gives you serious kudos!

Q: Ok - nice touch guys - but why the badges???
A: Because we think medals are boring and worthless! You put them round your neck for about 2 seconds and then they end up in the bin or at the bottom of a drawer gaining dust. Trophies aren't much better, and only the captain would get one. Plus, we wanted something players could collect and add to their team strips (or shorts, socks...etc) to mess with opposition's heads. You have to come up with novel and fun ways of attaching them to your clothes, and you have to do some work to put them on there, which we like (well just heat the iron up really..).
Q: Where should I put them?
A: If you've got a team strip - then definitely add them to this - e.g. on the cuff, on the chest..etc Displayed prominently when playing they can be a very effective way of psyching out the opposition! Otherwise, anything goes.. add them to your annual GM club t-shirt, hoody, headbands, favourite sweater, shorts, your undergarments? - we can't wait to see what you crazy people come up with.
Q: How do I iron them onto my garment?
A: Ideally, the heat should be applied through and from the reverse of the material to which the badge is being applied, with greaseproof paper between the iron and the material.
TEMPERATURE 120 – 160˚C
DURATION 30 – 45 seconds
PRESSURE 1 – 5 KG/cm² (for those who know their physics!)
THE ABOVE DETAILS ARE APPROXIMATE, DEPENDING ON THE MATERIAL BEING USED
Q: Can I take it off once I've ironed it on and for example put it into a different garment?
A: Once on, it's pretty permanent! However, you can obviously move it by cutting it off the existing garment and sewing it onto the new garment. This is depends upon how much you love the existing garment..
Q: Do you have an instructional video to show me how to iron on my badge?
A: Yes we do. Wolly has done a "Wolly Guide" so everyone can see how it should be done.
