The daily instruction isn’t like a typical lesson. You spend much more time with the instructor and the group therefore the learning is much less formal, less intense and more fun. Everyone is learning the same things at the same speed thus there is minimal waiting around and a natural support network around you.

Of course there is formal teaching, practicing and perfecting, but it’s more relaxed and there is plenty of free time to enjoy the valley with mates or join the GO Mammoth reps.

Area:
The Chamonix Valley is debatably more amazing and popular in the summer than it is during the winter. Naturally the popularity of Mont Blanc attracts large crowds but also; the rock climbs are world famous, the mountain biking is some of the best in the Alps, the treks are out of this world, and the valley has some of the most accessible glaciers known to man. This week involves the whole range of the most popular adventure sports – climbing, mountain biking, rafting, hiking and even a night out under the stars. The Chamonix valley is a huge playground for anyone who loves the outdoors!

The Accommodation:
Your package is based on sharing a room with up to 3 other people (keeping groups together). Twin rooms are available for a small supplement.
Please note: On Sunday arrival, please check in anytime from 8am. Early check-in (Saturday) is available for an additional fee. All guests will need to check-out by 1pm on Saturday.

Amenities:
Our accommodation is on the high street, metres from the village bars, bakeries and shops and offers fantastic 3 star accommodation. Inside there is the equipment room, drying rooms, large restaurant, sauna (so bring your swimmers!) and plenty of social space to relax in as well as the bar.

Dining:
The food is served buffet style each day. Breakfast is yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, coffee and bread – don’t be surprised to see that the coffee, tea or hot chocolate is taken French style – a soup bowl ! Typically lunch is a DIY picnic made up at breakfast time (great choice of breads, meats, cheeses, pasta, salad, fruit, sweets etc). The picnic lunch means maximum time on the mountains without spending a fortune on expensive mountain side restaurants. Dinner is a 4 course buffet – typically a salad bar style starter, choice of 3 or 4 main courses – most often including fish, cheese selection, fruit, dessert and ice-cream freezer. Any special dietary requirements should be made known to us prior to your departure date. Generally vegetarians will find a wide enough choice within the buffet.

Insurance
As with all holidays, it’s important that you purchase adequate travel insurance for your trip. You should check with the provider that you’re covered for sports activities. If you are a British Citizen you should also apply and carry with you an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card).

Getting to Argentiere
Argentiere is relatively easy to get to but you need to plan ahead and work out the best options depending on your budget.

By Plane:
We recommend SkyScanner to find the best deal to Geneva Airport (the closest airport). You can get flights for as low as £40 if booked in advance!

Airport transfers:
There are a number of transfer companies operating in the valley, we recommend Chamexpress.com.

By Train:
It is possible to reach Argentiere by train, the TER and TGV train services go to St Gervais which is 28km from Argentiere. From there you can take a local SNCF connection through to Argentiere station which is next to our accommodation.

What is not included in the tour price?

  • Flights/travel arrangements to Moliets
  • Travel Insurance
  • Beverages
