Itinerary & Entertainment

Social: Straight off the slopes and into the bar. We have a great line-up of extraordinary après-skis parties from sipping beers at the infamous Chez Boubou, playing games of pool in the Red Hot Saloon to the packed dance-floor of the Apolkalypse. Scavenger descents, fancy dress challenges and more, GO Mammoth provide an exclusive and truly unforgettable week

Day 1: On arrival in the resort you’ll be able to check-in anytime from 8am, once you’ve had time to relax you’ll be placed in a ski/snowboard group depending on your skill or level of experience. We’ll then head to the equipment store downstairs to get kitted out. The afternoon is yours to hit the slopes.

At 6pm it’s time to get to know your snow pals and meet your GO Mammoth reps. Once we’ve talked you through the itinerary for the week it’s then time for dinner.

Day 2 – 7: The rest of the week is a mixture of tuition/guide sessions, exclusive GM activites and free days to explore the mountain slopes. Each day you can opt to take a packed lunch with you and eat on the mountain or you can return to base for a hot lunch, it’s totally up to you!

Find out more

In true GO Mammoth style our fully qualified French instructors take their jobs and your safety very seriously whilst also making sure your having a great time.

There are 4 different levels of ski & board instruction/guide groups; beginner, intermediate, confirmed and expert. So whether you have never skied or boarded before or have grown up on snow or perhaps done a few seasons there is a level perfect for you.
Beginner – This is your first time. If you have never put skis/a board on before either on snow or on a dry slope, you will need to sign up for the beginner course. You receive nearly double the usual tuition time and will still have plenty of free time to relax and practice with friends!

Intermediate – You have skied/boarded once before or a couple of times when you were younger and bounced. You’re ready to boot up and re-visit. Or you are confident getting down easy runs and you want to build confidence on your parallel and attack some steeper slopes.

Confirmed – You have grown up on the snow or done a season, comfortable on most runs. You want some technique touch ups and an adrenaline fulled guided tour around the slopes including some off piste challenges.

Expert – Powderheads. Fast, skilled and you hold your own on and off the piste. Push yourself, time to show what you have got as our instructor will take you to lots of secret places and on some of Europe’s hardest runs.

The 2/3 hour daily sessions of instruction aren’t like typical private lessons. You spend much more time with the instructor and the group therefore the learning is much less formal, less intense and more fun. Everyone is learning the same things at the same speed thus there is minimal waiting around and a natural support network around you.

Of course there is formal teaching, practicing and perfecting, but it’s more relaxed and there is plenty of free time to enjoy the mountain with mates or join the GO Mammoth reps.

Accommodation

Our ski in ski out on piste accommodation is situated near Arc 1600, the lowest of the Les Arcs resorts and is a 10 minute walk from the centre of the village. Les Arcs 1600 is set in an idyllic location at the foot of the slopes and has a very friendly and laid-back atmosphere helped by the fact that it is a fully pedetrianized area. However, due to a convenient free shuttle  bus link (you can also walk or even ski the distance!) it also has easy access to neighboring villages such as Les Arcs 1800 where the nightlife is vibrant and buzzing.

Your package is based on sharing a room with up to 3 other people (4 staggered beds) in a large apartment block with basic but comfortable surroundings. We will also make sure groups are kept together. There are all the usual amenities such as dining rooms, a ski/board room, a TV room and bars.

Please note: On Sunday arrival, please check in anytime from 8am. Early check-in (Saturday) is available for an additional fee. All guests will need to check-out by 1pm on Saturday.

The Resort

World famous Les Arcs snowsure slopes, amazing off piste and superb atmosphere make it ideal for GO Mammoth to host an action-packed ski week! Its site, set among tress overlooking the Vanoise national park has a huge variety of slopes to satisfy all abilities. The resort is made up of four separate villages, all of which are ski in ski out and offer doorstep access to the fantastic Paradiski area, one of the most extensive and varied ski domains in the world. Les Arcs has a reputation of being calm and beautiful in the daytime but particularly lively at night!

Apres & Nightlife!

The resort offers some trendy, lively and varied apres ski. To name a few…

On the slopes:
+  Chez Boubou – on mountain action.
+  The Crazy Fox – piste pints.

In your boots:
+  The Ambiente Bar – tasty cocktails.
+  Jungle Cafe –  chilled feel.
+  Red Hot Saloon – big screens and live sport.

Early hours:
+  Apokalypse – lively music for late night dancers.
+  Club 73 – party the night away.

The Slopes

Les Arcs is part of the Paradiski area, comprising the combined skiing of Les Arcs, La Plagne, Montchavin-Les Coches and Peisey-Vallandry so you can be sure to experience some exhilarating slopes. With over 425kms of piste (200km in Les Arcs alone) there is a good amount of runs for all abilities whether you are complete beginner or veteran powdernut (the resort even has its very own speed run). Les Arcs takes in glacier skiing, wooded slopes and above tree-line bowls – in short pretty well all imaginable conditions!

Insurance

As with all holidays, it’s important that you purchase adequate travel insurance for your trip. You should check with the provider that you’re covered for ski activities. If you are a British Citizen you should also apply and carry with you an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card).

Getting to Les Arcs

Les Arcs is relatively easy to get to but you need to plan ahead and work out the best options depending on your budget.

Please note: On Sunday arrival, please check in anytime from 8am. Early check-in (Saturday) is available for an additional fee. All guests will need to check-out by 1pm on Saturday.

By Plane:

We recommend SkyScanner to find the best deal, choosing from the following airports:

  • Chambery (2 hours away)
  • Geneva (2.5 hours away)
  • Grenoble (2.5 hours away)
  • Lyon (2.5 hours away)

Transfers from these airports can easily be arranged through the providers below. We suggest Ben’s Bus who operate transers to Les Arcs from Geneva, Lyon and Chambery airports from £50pp.

By Coach:

By far the cheapest way to get to resort is with Snow Express or Eurolines who both run a coach service from London.

By Train:

  • Eurostar Direct Ski Train – This runs from London to Bourg St Maurice with no changes.  Runs daytime (Saturdays) and overnight (departs London Friday evenings, departs the Alps Saturday evenings). There’s a cafe bar onboard but on the overnight service there are no couchette beds, only reclining seats.
  • Eurostar + TGV – You can take a morning Eurostar from London to Paris or Lille, and then change onto a TGV (and a regional train too on weekdays). Also, Eurostars and TGVs have cafe bars to make the trip a little bit more enjoyable!

Les Arcs has one of the easiest and cheapest train-to-resort links via the funicular than runs from Bourg-St-Maurice to Arc 1600.

What is not included in the tour price?

  • Flights/travel arrangements to Les Arcs
  • Ski Insurance
  • Beverages
