Levels of play

BEGINNER

Are you a netball newbie? Want to learn the basics rather than playing competitive matches?

Our Beginner league will:

  • Introduce or re-introduce you to the rules of the game
  • Help you develop your netball skills
  • Improve your general fitness making you more match-ready
  • Develop awareness, positioning and co-operation within your team
  • Prepare you to move to a recreational netball league after 1 or 2 seasons

What to expect each week:

  • Emphasis on learning and developing match skills and preparing players to enter a recreational league at the end of the season
  • Each weekly session will consist of a 40 minute friendly match

RECREATIONAL

In our recreational league, you can expect casual fun matches with a low degree of competition.

The Recreational League is for you if:

  • You’re looking to have fun and get fit, but you won’t lose sleep if you lose the game!
  • You haven’t played Netball in a while
  • You want the emphasis to be on ‘fun’ rather than ‘mega-competitive’
  • You’re a group of friends/colleagues entering a netball team for the first time

What to expect each week:

  • You’ll take part in a 40 minute, casual, moderately competitive league match

INTERMEDIATE

The temperature in the Intermediate level heats up a bit more compared to the Recreational tier.

In our Intermediate leagues:

  • Participants have a solid grasp of the rules, and want to step things up a touch
  • Once you’ve played a few seasons at the Recreational level this is a natural step if you’re looking for that extra challenge
  • More experienced teams often can enter comfortably at this level
  • Depending how long since you played, if you played at 1st team at school or 1st-2nd at university you should be ready to dive straight into an intermediate league.

What to expect each week:

  • You’ll take part in a 40 minute competitive league match against opponents with a good degree of skill

Netball FAQ

Each season runs for 8–12 weeks, with weekly matches, professional umpires, league tables included

Your game time will vary every week between allocated hrs eg. 7pm and 9pm eg.  7pm,  740pm,  810pm etc.

Players can miss weeks but ensure your team has enough players to play to avoid them incurring a forfeit

Just choose a social netball league that suits your venue and day from above, then sign up online.

You can join as a full team, as small  group of friends (as individuals), or as an individual.

We’ll send out details about 1 week before the start date by email.

Seasons lengths are usually 8 weeks or 12 weeks depending.

This is dependent usually on how many teams there are in a league.

Season length is stated during sign up

We don’t offer free trials but your first game is covered by our Risk-Free Promise. If it’s not for you, we’ll refund you in full .

Alternatively you are welcome to visit and watch a league before joining. Just message us first to check you can get access.

You can join as a solo player, a small group, or as a full team.

Solo players are placed into other teams of individuals to create a full team.

Over 70% of GO Mammoth players join alone , not knowing anybody… and they make friends for life in the process!

GO Mammoth is the netball club for social netball players in London.

Our leagues are way more relaxed, social, and flexible than a serious netball club.

Search the leagues above for netball clubs near me.

We love netball here and we think you’ll love playing in our netball leagues too. If you’re still not convinced here’s 10 great reasons to join one of our netball clubs today:

  1. Meet new people – Playing in one of our ladies or mixed netball london leagues is a great way to meet new people. There’s a healthy amount of competition between our netball teams but at the end of the day everyone’s here to have fun.
  2. Enjoyable exercise – Netball is great exercise whatever level you play. Because our netball club is friendly, competitive and fun we think you’ll prefer it to the gym too!
  3. All abilities – We run both fun, recreational level London leagues and intermediate level netball for players and teams who want a faster game.
  4. Varied venues – We run netball clubs across London – with lots of venues across the capital you’ll be sure to find a league near to your home or work. No need to trek across town to play a game of netball, check out our list of leagues above to find a London netball club near you.
  5. Indoor or outdoor netball – you decide. We run both indoor and outdoor netball games at our netball clubs across London.
  6. No team, no problem – at Mammoth Netball you can join our netball leagues as either a team or individual, so if you can’t get a netball team together just join us as an individual and we’ll find a team for you to join (subject to availability).
  7. We’re cheap! Compared to the price of fitness classes and gym memberships in London our netball london community is a low cost way to stay in shape – and playing a game of netball with your mates is much more fun than hitting the treadmill!
  8. Beginner Netball welcome – unlike other netball clubs in London we don’t expect you to have played before or even know the rules of netball to join our leagues. Just read up on the basics before you come and our friendly professional umpires will soon help you get to grips with the in-‘s and out’s of the game.
  9. Win prizes – if your netball team wins any of our London leagues there’s great prizes up for grabs.
  10. We’re social – some of our netball teams sure work hard on the court but once they hit the mammoth sponsor bar everyone play’s just as hard! Our netball leagues are the perfect way to meet new people and make friends in London.
  11. Super friendly netball umpires and reps – … Ok, we know we said only 10 but this we couldn’t leave out.. GO Mammoth umpires are a breed apart. Forget stuffy, strict, bossy.. our reps are hand-picked to be the most social, supportive and responsible netballers in London.
