Directions from Waterloo Station:
Leave the station heading towards Elephant and Castle and turn right down Waterloo Road past Millennium Green. Turn right down Morley Street and then take a further left down St Georges Road, the A302. The Sports Centre is on the right hand side after a few minutes.
Levels of play
BEGINNER
Are you a netball newbie? Want to learn the basics rather than playing competitive matches?
Our Beginner league will:
- Introduce or re-introduce you to the rules of the game
- Help you develop your netball skills
- Improve your general fitness making you more match-ready
- Develop awareness, positioning and co-operation within your team
- Prepare you to move to a recreational netball league after 1-2 seasons
What to expect each week:
- Emphasis on learning and developing match skills and preparing players to enter a recreational league at the end of the season
- Each weekly session will consist of a 40 minute friendly match
RECREATIONAL
In our recreational league, you can expect casual fun matches with a low degree of competition.
The Recreational League is for you if:
- You’re looking to have fun and get fit, but you won’t loose sleep if you lose the game!
- You haven’t played Netball in a while
- You want the emphasis to be on ‘fun’ rather than ‘mega-competitive’
- You’re a group of friends/colleagues entering a netball team for the first time
What to expect each week:
- You’ll take part in a 40 minute, casual, moderately competitive league match
INTERMEDIATE
The temperature in the Intermediate level heats up a bit more compared to the Recreational tier.
In our Intermediate leagues:
- Participants have a solid grasp of the rules, and want to step things up a touch
- Once you’ve played a few seasons at the Recreational level this is a natural step if you’re looking for that extra challenge
- More experienced teams often can enter comfortably at this level
- Depending how long since you played, if you played at 1st team at school or 1st-2nd at university you should be ready to dive straight into an int league.
What to expect each week:
- You’ll take part in a 40 minute competitive league match against opponents with a good degree of skill

Netball is played at high quality outdoor netball courts in and around Waterloo, making it easy to find a court close to where you live, work or commute. We play at Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Sports Centre (per above) and at other Waterloo venues in Lambeth borough. Waterloo netball leagues are primarily social, offering organised team sport in a friendly and welcoming environment. We offer a range of different level of leagues above – see Recreational, Intermediate and Competitive. Just wear suitable sports kit and trainers — netballs, bibs, umpires and match organisation are all provided. Definitely. Over 70% of players joined alone, not knowing anyone else – and they made some amazing friends in the process. Alternatively you can join with a friend (as individuals) and we’ll keep you in the same team. Or if you have a full squad ready to go, then join as a team and save a bit of money Matches are usually held on weekday evenings, with games scheduled at the same time each week for the season. Yes, we usually start a new season of eg. 12 weeks after the current season has finished. You will be given the opportunity to re-register for the next season whilst playing in the current season. This gives you the ability to play social netball in Waterloo every week of the year 🙂 |

Cannot recommend GO Mammoth enough. Such a good way to meet-up with mates each week to play some social sport in a relaxed atmosphere. Guys in head office sort any issues really quickly.
