Want to feel good and look good? Supplement your fitness classes with some of these ingredient ideas to help keep your skin looking its best.

We sat down with Go Mammoth’s fitness classes manager Rachel Clement to get the lowdown on the best superfoods for your skin. Combine these superfoods with taking our Pilates London classes and you’ll soon see the health benefits! Check out our list below:


A handful of these to your cereal or greek yoghurt in the mornings will increase your body’s resistance against premature aging, skin cell damage and acne. This is thanks to molecules in blueberries called antioxidants which help flush out prevent damaging chemical reactions within skin cells. A British Dietary Association study has also concluded that eating more than three portions of blueberries a week could fight off off heart disease.


Definitely a good one for the summer months as the vitamin E stored within almonds will help protect your skin from sun damage. Vitamin E will assist your skin in holding in its moisture, relieving dryness and keeping it looking younger. Make sure you eat unsalted almonds however, as too much sodium can actually draw the moisture from your body, leaving your skin feeling rubbish.


Abundant in vitamin C, spinach aids the body’s production of collagen – a protein within your body which helps with tightening and repairing damage to your skin.

Not only does the kiwi taste great, but it’s yet another food brimming with Vitamin C, helping to keep your skin in tip-top condition.

Many supermarkets around the country now stock chia seeds – they are a foodstuff jam-packed with nutritional value. The Omega 3 fatty acids in chia seeds can help reduce redness and inflammation in your skin and ward off eczema and psoriasis. As an ingredient, chia seeds are also incredibly versatile – try putting them in your porridge with a few berries, your smoothies or if you’re fan of baking, why not include them in your recipe for wholewheat muffins.

It goes without saying all of the above should be supplemented with water – drinking 1.5 litres of it a day will aid with food digestion, absorption and blood circulation, while ensuring your skin doesn’t become dry and flaky.
